MILLBROOK, N.Y. -- Millbrook Middle School kids jumped for a good cause. About 100 students were in the air for a Jump Rope for Heart fundraiser. All money raised will go to the American Heart Association.
The event was organized by middlesSchool physical education teacher Joe Carbone. He says the event teaches kids about heart health while getting them involved in helping a worthy cause.
"It gives them a sense of ownership of what is going on in their community. And gives them some recognition that there are some people out there that are not as fortunate as us," said Carbone.
Carbone also said heart issues are close to his heart. He created a cadiocenter with donated equipment inside the middle school for students to use when they are not in class.
