ULSTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Highland man has been indicted by an Ulster County grand jury on charges for that he shot his girlfriend in the face

Police say it happened in the couple’s apartment on Pancake Hollow Road in Highland.

Jorge Marrero, 27, was indicted on two counts of felony assault in connection with the shooting of 25-year-old Lauren Watts.

Marrero has been accused of shooting Watts in the face with a handgun on October 14th, causing serious facial and head injuries.
