Welcome to On the Back Burner, the Cooking at Home blog
The driving force behind Cooking at Home is the desire to help people feel confident cooking
healthy, seasonally inspired meals on a regular basis. The hope is that, once the ball is rolling, the joy of creating home cooked meals will take on a life of its own. One that feels more like a pleasure than a chore.
We have lost touch with our connections to the earth and cooking seasonal meals can help rebuild that. Farmers markets are a great place to reconnect to the land by meeting and talking to the farmers that grow the food you are buying and eating.

The story you learn about the food helps make a good meal great. Knowing the love and time and passion that went into growing your food naturally transfers into your attention and love in cooking.
My recipes are seen all across New York, North Carolina, Texas, parts of California...and beyond! Want to learn more about me? Check out this interview I did with the
Albany Times Union a couple years ago to find out more about what it's like to work on Cooking at Home.
Check back a couple times a week for more "On the Back Burner" blog posts!
