LONDON, U.K. -- A Wappingers Falls native representing the United States jumps her way through the women's Olympic high jump qualifying round in London. Brigetta Barrett qualified as one the top 12 competitors in the world and will advance to Saturday's finals.
Barrett cleared 1.93 meters, which is 6’3”, on her second attempt to qualify for 10th place.
Barrett is the first Olympian with strong ties to Dutchess County with a shot at taking home an Olympic medal in 20 years.
The women's high jump finals are this Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
