GOSHEN, N.Y. -- Dozens of members of the Orange Sullivan 912 Tea Party gathered in Goshen to hear from several republican candidates in three races across the state.

"We’re about change, we're about taking Albany apart piece by piece and restructuring our government so that it's responsive to the people,” said Paladino.

Gubernatorial candidate Carl Paladino was one of those hoping to court conservative votes. But much of the attention at this meeting went to the race in the 19th Congressional District. Three of the candidates hoping to defeat democratic incumbent John Hall in November made their case for support at the polls.

"My background as a doctor, and a mother and a businesswoman gives me a lot of qualifications to tackle the issues that face us in this electoral year and going forward,” said Hayworth.

"I'm the only candidate in this race that has ever run a successful campaign, I'm the only candidate that's ever held elective office and I'm the only candidate in the race with 27 years of executive experience creating jobs,” said McFadden.

"I’m just a regular dad, I'm just a regular father and I go to work every day just like the majority of the people in this district and I accurately represent them, I’m just a regular guy,” said Di Carlo.

Those who showed up say they appreciate the chance to have their questions answered by the candidates.

"All three of them did pretty well; I think Nan Hayworth hit it on the head more so though,” said Carl Scheuering.

"That’s why these forums are good, that people can come out, get their ideas out to the candidates and vice versa,” said Wayne Umstetter.

Republican officials plan to announce their endorsement in the 19th District during the GOP Convention which is set to take place at the end of the month.
