POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- People who don't want hydroracking in New York are gathering tonight in Poughkeepsie.
The State Department of Environmental Conservation announced at a meeting last week that they're extending the deadline for people to send in their comments on the proposed fracking regulations.
Tonight, the group "FrackAction" is gathering people at Vassar College to write letters to the state.
The DEC is trying to figure out how to regulate the natural gas drilling process.
Public meetings across the state have brought out plenty of public comments on either side of the debate.
