CORNWALL, N.Y. -- Crews battled a massive fire at an industrial complex in Orange County.
The fire on Mill Street in Cornwall was first reported shortly before 11 a.m. Sunday.
Firefighters spent much of the day at the former mill, which is now being used to house several small businesses. No one was injured, but the businesses were destroyed.
Flames and thick black smoke could be seen for miles in the area.
Witnesses said it was an incredible scene when the fire first broke out.
Business owner Shelley Gray said, "There's a lot of businesses. There's one, there's another business over there that is paint scenery exclusively. And that building is completely...you could hear it popping. It was just incredible. I guess the paint and all the materials when the fire hit it, it was just explosive."
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
