ULSTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Throughout the month of February, The Hudson Valley mall in Ulster County will offer more than just clothes and electronics.
In celebration of National Black History Month, an empty storefront is now the home of an exhibit featuring information about African Americans involved in the military, sports, the arts, religion, and more.
Organizers said the exhibit looks to open people's eyes to something they never knew before.
Terri Gittens, Coordinator of Cultural Awareness Restores Equality said, “When someone who has a misconception or a myth about something and they believe it for, grandpa told them. And they'll come in here and say 'my goodness that’s not, you know I love grandpa, but that wasn't quite accurate because look at all these things these African American people have accomplished.'"
The exhibit will be open throughout the month of February during mall hours.
