Man arrested for jewelry thefts
DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- State Police arrested a man they say was pawning off stolen jewelry.
After a Town of Wappinger woman reported several pieces of jewelry were taken from her home, troopers began contacting local jewelry stores. They say stores told them that Mahmoud Abedelhadi, 24, had sold several pieces similar to the ones State Police were trying to track down.
Troopers say they brought Abedelhadi in for questioning and he admitted the thefts. He was arraigned in the Town of Poughkeepsie Court and was released on his own recognizance.
