STILLWATER, N.Y. – Sixty-two percent of voters in Stillwater approved their revised budget.
The more than $21 million plan comes with a nearly 1.5 percent tax increase. Since that was over the district's property tax cap, it needed a super majority of votes to be approved.
The district's tax cap was actually a negative number this year because of funding from GlobalFoundries. The district's superintendent says he's grateful to the community for voting yes to a budget that came with some difficult decisions.
