RENSSELAER, N.Y. -- Law firm Tully Rinckey helps a local Air Force staff sergeant support her cause of raising awareness of sexual assault in the military.

Greg Rinckey presented Troy native Colleen Bushnell with a check for $250 Wednesday.

The money will help fund Bushnell's "Long Road Home" project.

The two are also headed to New York City for a premier of the documentary "The Invisible War," which addresses sexual assault in the military.

Bushnell served for nine years in the Air Force before retiring in 2006. She was subjected to sexual assault while serving and has been telling her story in an effort to expose what she calls the hidden problem within the ranks.

"Men and women are both victims of sexual assault in the military, although a higher percentage among women. The numbers are strikingly close. Over a third of assaults in the military happen to men."

Bushnell will take part in a bike ride in July to help raise awareness for veterans returning home from war. The bike ride will last 90 days and cover 4,200 miles.
