Four arrested for stealing catalytic converters
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -– Four people have been charged with criminal mischief after Poughkeepsie Police say they stole catalytic converters from several cars around town.
Christopher Wade, 30, Patricia Durling, 24, and Donald Jones, 24, all of Poughkeepsie, and Ashley Bard, 27, of Germantown, were arrested.
Police say they sawed off the converters from cars in a Metro-North station, local shopping centers and a car repair shop.
Each converter is valued from $800 to $1,600 when sold to a scrap metal yard.
All four are being held at Dutchess County Jail for lack of bail.
