SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – General Electric is announcing a program today to help expand the skills of their workers, and get them college credit at the same time. GE is teaming up with Excelsior College for the program to help recruit and train more wind energy technicians.
The credit-for-work initiative will give employees who go through their Wind Technician Certification program up to 49 credits through Excelsior.
Technicians complete the program through the Energy Learning Center where they work on the same components used in wind turbines operating around the world.
