ORANGE COUNTY, N.Y. -- After the initial offering of $500,000, FEMA is now giving Orange County more than $3 million for repairs to the government center.

County Executive Ed Diana said the county has received the final project worksheet from FEMA, increasing the county's eligible disaster funds to $3.6 million.

The government center was badly damaged due to flooding from Tropical Storm Irene and the remnants of Lee last year.

Orange County officials originally asked for $5 million for repairs and months of debate and talks followed to reach an agreement on how much the damages cost.

The county legislature is still deciding whether to renovate the building or build a new one.
