NEWBURGH, N.Y. -- A Newburgh man is shot after police said he was caught up in a robbery. Police said the victim, 32, was walking near Carson Avenue and Monument Street when he said a man being chased by another man with a handgun.
Officers said the man with the gun than bumped into the victim, and demanded he give them everything we had. Police said the victim started running when he heard two more gunshots. He was treated at St. Luke's Hospital for gunshot wounds to his left leg, around his knee area.
Police said he believed that the suspect is a man in his early twenties, who fled the scene in a small, white vehicle. Anyone with information is asked to call the city of Newburgh Detectives at (845) 561-3131.
