Train service getting back to normal

By: Web Staff

HUDSON VALLEY -- As of Monday morning, modified all-day train service has been restored on the Port Jervis Line, with nine trains running in each direction.

With this new service, the off-peak bus program has ended. Also, modified rail service has been restored on the Pascack Valley line.

There will be 11 trains in each direction, making all local stops to Hoboken. These trains will not stop at Seacaucus.

The MTA encourages travelers to check njtransit.com. for transfer and scheduling information.

And finally, PATH rail service is back up at Newark Penn and Harrison stations in New Jersey to Manhattan. Trains will run in both directions until 10 o'clock.

Recovery efforts are still keeping the Hoboken, Exchange Place and World Trade Center stations closed.

And additional options for commuters are now available. The Port Authority and New Jersey Transit are now offering busing and ferry alternatives.
