BRUNSWICK, N.Y. -- State Police were using helicopters in Brunswick Tuesday evening to search for a man they say stole gas from the Stewart's on Hoosick Street.

State Troopers say they got a call from the gas station that a car had pulled up and stole gas. As they were arriving on the scene, troopers say the car pulled back up, but that a man got out and ran away.

State Police are now searching for a man they say is 140 pounds and about 5 feet, 5 inches tall. He's wearing a red fleece Northface jacket and a knit cap.

There is no word on if the man is armed.

State Police say they'll continue patrolling Hoosick Street and surrounding areas with cars and helicopters.

If you saw anything, you're asked to call 911.
