MALTA, N.Y. -- A Malta man was arrested after the Warren County Sheriff's department says he stole $50,000 worth of jewelry. Deputies say Eric Powell, 29, faces several felony, larceny, and possession of stolen property charges.

While working as a manager at the Kay Jewelers at the Aviation Mall in Queensbury, Powell allegedly stole more than $50,000 worth of jewelry and then sold it on eBay.

Deputies say it happened over a period of time between May 2011 and December 2011. They also say when Powell learned about their investigation, he immediately resigned his position.

A Grand Jury recently heard the case and returned an indictment. Powell is now scheduled to be in court again on December 13th.
