The USS Slater will be closing for the winter after their last tour at 4 p.m. Sunday.

The USS Slater is the last World War II Destroyer Escort afloat in America. Hundreds like her served in World War II and wars after, protecting convoys of troops and supplies.

The ship will reopen in March.
