HUDSON VALLEY -- Students throughout the region could be searching for a new elementary school by the end of the year.
On Monday, the Archdiocese of New York announced many of its schools across the state could close, targeting schools that might not have the financial stability to remain open.
The Archdiocese named Sacred Heart in Newburgh, St. Joseph's in Kingston, St. Mary of the Snow in Saugerties, and Regina Coeli in Hyde Park as schools that are at risk for closing.
According the Archdiocese, if the closings happen, the decision would be made in January, and the closings would happen in June.
