Police officer pleads guilty to fraud, forced to resign

ULSTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Town of New Paltz police officer has been forced to resign after pleading guilty to worker’s compensation fraud.

Camille Bishop, 40, of Saugerties, pled guilty last week

The issue stems from a dispute over a back injury that Bishop said she suffered on the job. Officials discovered she suffered a back injury in a 2001 car accident and never disclosed it in her application process.

Bishop will be sentenced in February.
