Yankees and Mets making moves in the offseason

BRONX, N.Y. -- The baseball offseason is well underway, and the Yankees and Mets are starting to make a little noise.

It looks like Andy Pettitte and the Yankees have reached a deal to bring Pettitte back for another season. A high ranking Yankees official told Tom MacDonald of our sister station at NY1 that Pettitte will be resigned later this week. The one year deal is said to be worth $11 million.

Pettitte retired in 2011, but returned to the Yankees in 2012. He went 5-4 with a 2.87 ERA. Pettitte missed about two months of the season with an ankle injury

Meanwhile in Queens, ESPN is reporting the Mets have offered third baseman David Wright an extension that would keep him in New York through 2020. Last season for the Mets, Wright hit .306 with 93 RBI and 21 homeruns.
