KINGSTON, N.Y. -- FEMA's new Disaster Recovery Center in Kingston is open and ready to help.

The center at the Hudson River Maritime Museum will have FEMA and Small Business Administration representatives available for Sandy victims.

FEMA has declared Ulster County a disaster area. These type centers allow residents and business owners to speak with someone directly about their current situation.

The Disaster Recovery Center will be from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday this week. If you aren't able to make it to the center, you can apply online at disasterassistance.gov, or by calling FEMA at (800) 621-3362.

Meanwhile the Disaster Recovery Center in Orange County will close later this week.

The center located at the Orange County Fire Training Center will remain open from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. for the rest of the week. It will then close on Friday.

If you're eligible and haven't applied for assistance yet, you're urged to do so as quickly as possible.
