ALBANY COUNTY, N.Y. -- The Albany County Sheriff's Department invited the public to tour their new facility and meet some of their K9s.

The office has been working over the last year to close two of their stations, and open this building in Clarksville. It's all in an effort to make their operations more efficient and save taxpayers money, since this move comes at a minimal cost.

"We moved ourselves, the inmates painted it, our electricians from the jails came out and ran wiring, we installed everything ourselves, so we're really proud of our employees, and taxpayers should be proud as well because it saved them a ton of money," said Sheriff Craig Apple.

Apple says the move should save tax payers $8-$10,000 a month.
