SCHODACK, N.Y. -- The man accused of stabbing a woman over the weekend in Rensselaer County was arraigned on second degree murder charges. Jason Gynup, 29, was arraigned Sunday night.
Emergency crews were called to a home early Sunday morning on Brilan Avenue for a domestic dispute. When state police arrived, they say they found Nikki Hart, 33, stabbed in the neck. She was pronounced dead at Albany Memorial Hospital.
Authorities began searching for Gynup, and just a few minutes later, a car crash was reported on Hayes Road in East Greenbush. Police found Gynup nearby on Route 9J, and took him into custody.
He was treated for unspecified injuries at the hospital before he was arraigned.
