NEW YORK -- Tighter rules on electronic cigarettes and tax breaks for solar energy are set to take effect next week. A new state ban on sales of E-cigarettes to kids under 18 kicks in January 1st.

On the same day, the sale and installation of commercial solar units will become exempt from state taxes. Residential solar units are already tax-exempt as the state continues to push renewable energy.
