Homeless teen taken into custody
ULSTER COUNTY, N.Y. – A homeless man was taken into custody following reports of trespassing. Ulster County Sheriff's deputies responded to a call of a person trespassing at a vacant mobile home in the town of Plattekill Sunday night.
Deputies say they discovered Andrew Hecht, 19, hiding out in the home. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that teen is wanted by the New York State Division of Parole on a prior burglary charge.
According to deputies, the owner of the vacant home did not press any charges, but Hecht is now being held at the Ulster County Jail awaiting a parole hearing.
