NEW YORK -- Consumer confidence numbers flirt with the optimistic threshold across the state. A new Siena poll finds confidence is up between 10 and 28 percent across all areas.
Pollsters say consumers have pent up demand. That means we could see a lot more spending on cars, computers, and furniture this spring.
Siena also found sentiment could suffer from a debt ceiling debacle, but right now it looks like consumers will add a boost to the economy.
