NEWBURGH, N.Y. -- The state has approved nearly $9 million in loans to repair a damaged sewer main in the City of Newburgh.
You may remember that the main burst back in October, letting millions of gallons of raw sewage flow into the Quassaick Creek.
The city is currently mapping out a plan to fix the main, with a target date of June for the start of construction. Two million dollars will go toward replenishing the money the city spent to stop the leak when it happened. The city is eligible for another $6.9 million for the repair project.
