PLEASANT VALLEY, N.Y. -- A 75-year-old man is dead following a house fire in Dutchess County. According to Dutchess County Sheriff’s deputies, it happened on Travis Road in the Town of Pleasant Valley around 7:15 Friday morning.

The victim is 75-year-old Marvin Mordkoff. Deputies say the home was extensively damaged as a result of the fire.

Capt. John Watterson of the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office said, "The cause is believed to be non suspicious at this time. The investigation is continuing. It will continue with the fire investigators along with Dutchess County medical examiner and a conclusion will be reached at a later time."

The victim's wife got out of the house safely. She was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.
