National Grid warns customers of phone scam
ALBANY, N.Y. -- National Grid is warning its customers of a recent phone scam.
According to the company, people are calling customers and asking them for their banking and credit card information. They say the scammers threaten to turn off the power if they don't give them the information.
National Grid says several customers have recently been victims of the scam.
The company urges customer to contact national grid immediately to find out if anyone who calls claiming to be from the company is legit. Their number is at 1-800-642-4272.
