PORT JERVIS, N.Y. -- An Orange County man has been charged with murder in connection with the death of a woman two weeks ago.

Prosecutors say David Stevenson of Port Jervis slashed the throat of 35-year-old TyRochelle Haughton. Authorities say Stevenson then set fire to a Mountain Avenue home with Haughton inside.

Stevenson has been charged with murder, manslaughter and arson among other charges. He's been at Westchester Medical Center with burn injuries since the January 15th fire. He'll be arraigned at the hospital when medically possible. Stevenson will then be taken to Orange County Jail when released from the hospital.
