TROY, N.Y. -- Troy Police quickly took a purse snatching suspect into custody Wednesday and they say he was also wanted for failing to register as a sex offender.

Police say Roger Malloy, 42, robbed an elderly woman on Pawling Avenue just after 1 p.m. and fled in a car waiting nearby. Officers pulled the car over a short time later and chased Malloy on foot when he tried to run.

Malloy has been charged with robbery and resisting arrest and is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday morning.
