HUDSON VALLEY, N.Y. -- The public will get its first opportunity to meet the team selected to build the new Tappan Zee Bridge.

The New York State Thruway Authority announced community meetings next week. That's when representatives from Tappan Zee Constructors, the Thruway Authority, and the governor's office will present the design-build team's bridge design and comprehensive plan. They will also answer questions from the public.

Last year, Governor Cuomo got approval from President Obama to expedite the review and approval process. This will allow the bridge replacement project to get underway sooner.

The informational meetings will take place in Westchester and Rockland counties.

The first one will be at the Westchester Marriot. That's at 670 White Plains Road in Tarrytown. The second will be at Nyack High School, located at 360 Christian Herald Road in Upper Nyack. Both meetings begin at 7 p.m.
