POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – A Wappingers Falls man was hospitalized after being hit by a car in the Town of Poughkeepsie.

Police say Keama Lewis, 36, was walking along Route 9D just before 7 a.m. Thursday when he was hit.

Police say a 2000 Honda Civic driven by a 42-year-old town resident was heading south when he hit Lewis.

Police say Lewis was severely injured and taken to St. Francis Hospital. They say his injuries are not considered life threatening.
