MONTGOMERY, N.Y. -- Two teens died last weekend of a methadone overdose, according to the Times Herald-Record.
The paper reports a 13-year-old and 15-year-old died at their father's home Saturday.
YNN reached out to Town of Montgomery police to learn more about their deaths, but they were not available for comment.
We have learned one of the boys attended Ulster County BOCES. His principal says the community was extremely saddened to learn about what happened.
"In this case, the parent was adamant about communicating the means by which her son passed away. Her wishes were to use this message and hopefully that we could help other students, a wake up a call, a warning that experimenting with substances is dangerous," said Jonah Schenker, Ulster BOCES Principal of Alternative Education.
Social workers are at the school working with any students who may want to talk.
