NEW YORK CITY -- Orange County Executive Ed Diana is admitted to the hospital to undergo routine testing related to his liver disease. Diana announced in November that he has non-alcohol fatty liver disease and is in need of a liver transplant due to his condition.

This comes after he was scheduled to present his new school safety initiative at a Ways and Means Committee meeting Wednesday.

Diana is currently in Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan, and has been in close contact with his staff.

Due to his condition, he is on an organ transplant list and will undergo surgery when a match is found. Diana is expected to be back in the office next week.
