SULLIVAN COUNTY, N.Y. -- A traffic stop for broken brake lights and a loud exhaust resulted in the arrest of a Sullivan County man.
Sullivan County Sheriff's Deputies say they arrested Mathew Irelan, 24, after pulling him over in the town of Thompson on Sunday.
Police say they discovered Irelan was driving under the influence of drugs. Deputies say they also uncovered $1,200 worth of stolen goods in the car, including a computer and a digital camera.
They say Irelan was recognized as a suspect from a Walmart burglary in December. According to deputies, he later admitted to another incident in which he stole $1,500 worth of cash and credit card receipts from Brother Bruno's Restaurant in Thompson.
Irelan is charged with DWI, several counts of grand larceny, burglary, and possession of stolen property. He was arraigned in town of Thompson Court and sent to Sullivan County Jail without bail.
