POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Police in the City of Poughkeepsie are investigating a shooting that sent one person to the hospital Sunday night.

Police say an 18-year-old city resident was shot in the chest as he walked on Garden Street. A person walking with the victim was able to flag down a passing car to get a ride to St. Francis Hospital.

The victim, who is not being identified, has since been released from the hospital.
