SCHLADMING, AUSTRIA -- Pro skier and four-time overall World Cup Champion, Lindsey Vonn is hospitalized, after apparently injuring her right knee. Vonn crashed during the Women's super-G on opening day of the World Championships Tuesday.
She apparently lost her balance while landing a jump. Her ski came off immediately. She slid off course and hit a gate before coming to a standstill. Vonn received medical treatment on the slope for 12 minutes being taken to a hospital by helicopter.
She trailed race leader Tina Maze of Slovenia by 0.12 seconds shortly before the crash.
The race, which was postponed for three and a half hours because of fog, restarted after a delay for 15 minutes.
