THOMPSON, N.Y. -- After ten terms as Supervisor in the Town of Thompson, Tony Cellini will not seek reelection after completing his current term this year.

Cellini served as a Councilman in the town for 17 years and was elected as Supervisor in 1993.

He says among his proudest achievements has been keeping the town tax rate one of the lowest in the region and bringing much needed business, like the $600 million casino, to the community.

Now, at the age of 72, the supervisor says it's time to turn over the keys.

Town of Thompson Supervisor Anthony Cellini said, "I thank the people of this town for the opportunity that they have afforded me to lead and to guide the town through some roller coaster rides. It’s time for new ideas, new thoughts, in this era."

Several people in the town of Thompson have expressed interest in the position.
