NEWBURGH, N.Y. -- The time of verbal commitments is over. Wednesday was National Signing day, the first day athletes could sign their letter of intent to play college sports.
In Newburgh two athletes put pen to paper. NFA Offensive Tackle Toussant Helm is joining the Patriot League taking his talents to Division I Lafayette. Helm was a starter his senior year helping clear the way for the dangerous Goldbacks ground attack.
Also Linebacker Mike Cerisano signed his letter of intent to play football at Division II Southern Connecticut State. Cerisano was a three year starter for the Goldbacks.
Both guys were members of the 2011 team that finished as the Class Double-A state runner up.
