Poughkeepsie man indicted on several charges relating to stabbing
ORANGE COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Poughkeepsie man has been indicted on several charges after police say he stabbed a police officer in the City of Newburgh.
The Orange County District Attorney's Office says Larry Gantt has been charged with attempted murder, assault, attempted assault, aggravated assault and attempted aggravated assault on a police officer.
Police say Gantt stabbed Officer Eric Henderson in the chest and neck when Anderson was trying to break up a fight at the Dry Dock Club on November 3rd.
Officials say Gantt has also been charged with assault for stabbing two other men during the fight. All three victims have recovered from their injuries.
Gantt is set to be arraigned on Friday.
