Doctor sentenced for drug distribution
WOODSTOCK, N.Y. -- A Woodstock doctor loses his medical license after writing prescriptions for money. In October, Dr. Wayne Longmore pleaded guilty to illegally distributing and dispensing hydrocodone without legitimate medical purpose.
Police say he wrote several prescriptions for the narcotic and received cash payments in return.
In addition to losing his medical license, Longmore was sentenced Thursday to six months home detention, three year’s probation and 200 hours of community service.
He is also forced to pay $200,000, representative of the profit made from writing the prescriptions.
