Man arrested in burglary investigation

SCHAGHTICOKE, N.Y. -- A Waterford man allegedly stole a number of items from a Mobil Mart, but was eventually caught by Rensselaer County Sheriff’s deputies when his car ran out of gas.

Deputies say Alan Dumouchel, 28, stole more than 200 packs cigarettes, lottery tickets and roughly $200. They say Dumouchel wasn't alone, and he and another man took off.

Dumouchel was found after his car ran of gas on Route 2 in Petersburg near the Massachusetts border. He was arrested and charged with burglary and grand larceny.

Deputies say the second person is believed to be in Vermont. Investigators are working with authorities there to find him.
