Newburgh gun buyback event moved to next Saturday
NEWBURGH, N.Y. -- Due to the snowstorm, the Newburgh gun buyback event has been postponed.
The event was supposed to take place at the House of Refuge on Broadway in the city. It will instead be held next Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the same location.
The buyback event is part of Orange County's "Save a Life" Program.
Despite the event's postponement, residents can still turn in guns to the police departments in Newburgh, Middletown, Port Jervis and at the county sheriff's office. A ShopRite gift card will be given out in exchange.
The program runs through March 18th.
