SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- People throughout the Capital Region came together to celebrate their appreciation for wine this weekend.
Hosted by Proctors Theater in Schenectady, this is the organization's fifth annual wine tasting event.
Aside from tasting a variety of international wines, participants also had a chance to taste food from local restaurants.
Despite the messy winter weather that also decided to come to town this weekend, organizers and festival-goers say the weather wouldn't keep them away.
“There's lots of people and we'll have between 500 and 600 people today, which I think is a little affected by the weather, to be honest with you. But it's a great showing nonetheless, considering how scared everyone was of the storm,” said Leesa Perazzo, Proctors Theater Special Events.
“The weather would never affect an event like this, honestly, because this is one of the greatest events in Schenectady. We enjoy local wines, regional wines, even national and international wines. They're all great,” Amanda Allie said.
Proceeds from the day's event go toward Proctors Theater.
