CAPITAL REGION, N.Y. -- Police in two different towns are investigating bank robberies that happened within minutes of each other.

The first happened at the Trustco Bank in the Star Plaza in Guilderland at 5:50 p.m. Wednesday.

Police say the two people seen in the photo walked into the bank and passed a note demanding money from a teller. They did not display a weapon and left the bank with an unspecified amount of money.

Just eight minutes later, police say a man wearing all black robbed the Trustco Bank at 1900 Altamont Avenue in Rotterdam, also getting away with an undisclosed amount of cash. He's described as five-foot-five, with a medium build and was last seen running north on Altamont Avenue.

It's not clear at this point if the robberies are connected.

Anyone with information about either robbery is asked to contact police.
