SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- ESPN has won a partial victory in a libel case against the network and two of its employees. The suit was brought by the wife of former Syracuse University assistant basketball coach Bernie Fine.

Laurie Fine is suing over ESPN's coverage of the sex abuse allegations against her husband.

Over the summer, ESPN filed to dismiss one of the libel claims. It concerned the network's coverage of accuser Bobby Davis' lawsuit against SU head basketball coach Jim Boeheim.

The network's lawyers argued that because the coverage was a summary of the affidavit filed during a judicial proceeding, it cannot be used as the basis of a libel complaint. The judge agreed, dismissing that count.

The suit will still move forward, however, based on five other claims.
