ORANGE COUNTY, N.Y. -- A 19-year-old remains in the hospital after the car he was driving crashes into a school bus.

Police say the crash happened on Route 209 and Peenpack Trail in the Town of Deerpark.

According to police, the bus was heading north on 209 and the driver of the car, Justin Maher, was heading south. Police say they believe the bus driver is responsible for the crash after failing to yield to the right of way.

Maher was transported to Westchester Medical Center and he is expected to be okay.

Officials say there was one child on the bus, but the child was not injured.

The investigation is ongoing.
